In fact, this is an innovative approach proposed in the controlled detailed planning of Beijing City sub-center, aiming to provide residents with balanced and high-quality urban public services nearby, and is a functional composite urban public space. According to the plan, the sub-center will build 36 home centers in 12 clusters combining functional zoning, population distribution and current status.

"The home center is equivalent to city-level property, which is conducive to making up for the shortcomings of urban public service facilities." According to the relevant person in charge of the Tongzhou Branch of the Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission, "Each home center serves a population of about 10,000 to 30,000 people, with a service radius of about 1 km, which can meet the needs of residents' work, residence, leisure, transportation, education, medical treatment and other needs, and achieve the balance of six functions of occupational, residential, medical, education, rest and business."

Take the community-level home center of Zhongcang Street as an example, this three-story building transformed from an abandoned boiler room integrates commercial functions, livelihood functions and social functions, providing comprehensive convenience services such as vegetable basket, community canteen, bookstore, barber shop, supermarket and medical treatment for nearly 3,000 residents around, creating a convenient "5-minute life circle". One-stop to meet the needs of residents. For more than two years, it has become a place where nearby residents often come to punch in, especially the elderly canteen, which is the most popular and can eat hot meals in a few minutes.

On the basis of the Zhongcang Home Center, the sub-center will start construction of 2 block-level home centers in 2024, including Beiyuan Home Center and East Pony Home Center. Among them, Beiyuan Home Center is located in the old city of Tongzhou District, close to Tongzhou Beiyuan Station and Tongzhou Wanda Plaza of Metro Line 1, focusing on making up the short board of community functions and connecting the rail bus transfer.

It will supplement the functions of institutional elderly care facilities, community-level cultural facilities, community service centers, and logistics distribution centers, and reserve certain flexible configuration space to solve the problems of insufficient public service radius and lack of service categories in the area, and build a west gate household from the central city of Beijing into the sub-center." Another highlight of Beiyuan Home Center is to focus on the accessibility of transportation supporting facilities, and fully integrate the transfer functions of the surrounding rail transit and bus stations. The designer's Dynamic space debuts in 2024

In 2024, the sub-center will have three more home centers completed and put into use. Among them, the Zhangjiawan Design Town Beibao Light Steel Home Center project, located on the north side of the permanent site of Beijing International Design Week project, covers an area of about 0.76 hectares, with a total construction area of about 21,000 square meters, which will provide multiple functions such as design exhibition, product exhibition, health care, childcare facilities, comprehensive service center, etc. Create a supporting service facility center with rich types and diversified formats for employees of surrounding enterprises to enhance the vitality of the area.

The project will carry out stock transformation of the four existing buildings of the former Beibao Light Steel Mill comprehensive dormitory building, boiler room, transformer and distribution room, and cutting workshop. In the design, it will be planned together with the permanent site, fully respect the architectural texture of the old factory building, retain the red brick style of the original staff dormitory, boiler room, transformer and distribution room, and adopt the backtable design in the area above the second floor, and the top floor will be designed to carry out the volume. Create a comfortable outdoor space. The interior implant coffee, catering, bookstore and other functions to provide the surrounding design workers with leisure life, exchange places, form a dynamic home center, create a creative life scene.

In the second district of Yi Paradise, Yangzhuang Street, Tongzhou District, the community-level home center project has also been implemented and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Yiyuan second district is the family of Beijing prospecting Machinery Factory, the community is more than the 1960s to 1970s buildings, especially in the middle of the existing 4 brick buildings, originally for the family hall, disrepair idle abandoned, has been identified as a dangerous house. This home center project will upgrade the auditorium, retain part of the original building outline on the basis of the use of prefabricated design for renovation, to provide residents with convenient canteen, comprehensive supermarket and other diversified services. According to the design, the north building will be basically restored to the original appearance, the south building is a modular form, which is composed of multiple compartments, and the original auditorium square area will be appropriately expanded by 600 square meters. The project also preserves the existing red brick architectural texture of the site, restoring the culture of the prospecting plant auditorium and reviving the traditional neighborhood culture.

In addition, the 0701 Block Home Center, located in the second phase of the administrative office area of the Deputy Center, will also be completed in 2024. The project has an area of 57,000 square meters of public service facilities, equipped with 4,000 square meters of bus stops, as well as community elderly care and disability assistance, community health service center, community comprehensive fitness center, etc. It is a comprehensive one-stop service center that includes regional cultural facilities and a nursing home for the disabled.
